Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

Produce items from cheniers

  1. Solder seams free from pin holes, inclusions and excess flooding
  2. Ensure cheniers have a smooth and blemish-free surface
  3. Conduct quality assurance during construction to maintain finish consistency and ensure items are produced to all specified dimensions
  4. Produce knuckles and bearer wires or sheets to specification
  5. Gap items to size and specification
  6. Cut, file and place knuckles according to item requirement
  7. Flush and draw solder under knuckles
  8. Make pin fit comfortably through knuckles of adjoining sides
